Alec & Hilaria Baldwin To Star In TLC Family Reality Show

Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are the next family poised to star in their own reality series

The actor and producer, who has seven kids under age 10 with his wife, announced the TLC reality program about their life as a party of nine. “The Baldwins,” the show’s provisional title, is scheduled to release in 2025.

“We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” Baldwin said in a video he shared to Instagram on Tuesday.

In the announcement video, the couple joked about Hilaria declaring another pregnancy, but she said they are done having kids before the footage shifted to a chaotic image of their children shrieking and the parents struggling to manage the mass for a group photo.

The couple married in July 2012 and welcomed their first child in August 2013. Baldwin was previously married to actor Kim Basinger, who had his eldest daughter, Ireland.

The announcement comes as Baldwin prepares for trial for his involuntary manslaughter charge in the fatal gunshot on the set of the film “Rust” in 2021. The trial is scheduled for July in Santa Fe and Baldwin has pleaded not guilty. The offense entails a maximum sentence of 18 months in incarceration.

While filming the Western movie, which Baldwin produced and starred in, a revolver he was holding discharged, murdering cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. Baldwin has said that he did not release the trigger.

In April, the film’s weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed received the maximum sentence of 18 months in a New Mexico state penitentiary after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a jury determined she failed to observe firearms safety protocols.

Baldwin’s legal team attempted to invalidate the charge against him, but Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who also presided over Gutierrez-Reed’s case, affirmed the charge in May.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was wounded with a pistol Mr Baldwin was using during a rehearsal on the set of Rust, which was being filmed in New Mexico.

Director Joel Souza was also harmed in the incident.

Mr Baldwin has maintained he did not release the trigger, and only drew back the hammer of the pistol, but if convicted, he could face up to 18 months in prison.

The movie's weapons handler who loaded a pistol for actor Baldwin, was convicted guilty of involuntary manslaughter in March.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 26, was later sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Following the announcement of The Baldwins, the 66-year-old actor was criticised on social media for signing up to the program.

Writing on X/Twitter, broadcaster Piers Morgan said: "My god... the repulsive shamelessness of doing this when you’re facing a criminal trial for shooting a woman dead, and when you constantly attack the media for invading your privacy."

"In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the household they share with their seven developing kids.

"For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and drawing everyone in to participate in the continuous love, hilarity and drama.”

Baldwin is best known for his role as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock and for his portrayal of Donald Trump on parody program Saturday Night Live.
