Florence Pugh She Will Forever Be Empowered Of Her Film
Having the opportunity to work with Andrew Garfield on the production of her new film, "We Live in Time," Florence Pugh has expressed how immensely satisfying the experience was for her.
On Sunday, October 20, Pugh, who is 28 years old, took to social media to express her appreciation for a number of aspects of the production of the picture, which is centered on a love tale that takes a tragic turn. Among these aspects was her onscreen work with Garfield, who is 41 years old.
"I am grateful to you, Andrew. I’ll forever be empowered by what we produced together and the performer you made me want to be each day,” Pugh wrote in an Instagram post that detailed her fondness for the film. Additionally, she elaborated on how incredible it was to be given the chance to play Almut, one of the two main characters in the movie.
“I’ve been desperate for a role like this for a few years. A woman who is current and relatable and going through all of the conversations modern women are going through daily,” Pugh wrote. "One of the most memorable moments of my career has to be when I was able to perform a script written by Nick Paynes on John Crowley's sets."
In addition to the gushing message, a number of photographs were also included. These photographs included a promotional poster for the film, Pugh sporting a shaven head, highlights from behind-the-scenes makeup and wardrobe, and a picture of Garfield smiling under an umbrella in between takes.
Garfield disclosed earlier this month that he and Pugh were tremendously devoted to giving their roles justice on the big screen. Pugh's dedication comes after Garfield made this revelation.
During the episode of the podcast titled "Happy Sad Confused" that was presented by Josh Horowitz and aired on October 5th, Garfield disclosed that the two individuals had failed to hear the word "cut" when they were recording a sexual scene together.
“We do the first take of this very intimate, passionate sex scene,” he remarked during the recording. Also, it is a closed set, which means that Florence and I are the only people in the room together, along with the camera operator, who is also our director of photography, a really kind and charming man named Stewart.

Garfield continued, “The scene becomes passionate and we choreographed it. And we get into it — as it were — and we go a little bit further than we were intended to just because we never heard ‘cut’ and it’s feeling secure and we’re like, ‘OK, we’ll move to the next thing and the next thing, we’ll let this progress.”
The Never Let Me Go actor then described how he “telepathically” recognized that filming should have halted, telling Horowitz, “I look up, and in the corner is Stewart and our boom operator. Stewart has the camera by his side and he’s turned into the wall.”
We Live In Time follows a decade-long love affair between Tobias, played by Garfield, and Pugh’s Almut. A vehicle accident brings the pair together before a sequence of hurdles sends them on a less-than-perfect route that finds them handling parenting and a medical diagnosis.
For his part, Garfield has also acknowledged how meaningful a project the picture was, telling reporters at the San Sebastian picture Festival in September, “I read [the script], I was in deep contemplation of the meaning of life. I was thinking about life, death, love, meaning, time. … standing at the age of 39 and 40, kind of a mid-life crisis, looking forward, looking backward, seeing exactly where I am, and thinking, ‘What now?’ This script arrived, and it was as if I had written it from that spot. These things, there’s gotta be something to it, something universal in this story.”
