Style Rixo x Ciao Lucia Collaboration
The Los Angeles-based label Ciao Lucia and the British womenswear brand Rixo have collaborated to launch a capsule collection.
The 12-piece summer capsule collection, which includes feminine dresses in short and midi-length styles made of silk, cotton, and viscose, was "completely collaboratively" developed.
According to a statement from Rixo, the two independent, female-founded firms had a lot in common when it came to their aesthetics—using bold designs and feminine shapes, for example—so they seemed like the "perfect collaboration."
"It's such a small world Lucy used to buy Rixo in her previous role, which is how we first met," said Henrietta Rix, co-founder and CEO of Rixo. We really had a talk about a collaboration via Instagram Direct Message one evening, during which we reminisced over the previous few years.
Because of our comparable working styles and ability to move fast without major corporate approvals, we were able to create a collection that flawlessly encapsulates the spirit of both businesses. We are delighted to share this partnership with our clients across the world and realize a little portion of our common goal."

With each brand's own elements in mind, the collaboration capsule was created, including vibrant hues, vintage-inspired shapes, and whimsical designs. Orlagh McCloskey, co-founder of Rixo, even painted a cherub print by hand, drawing inspiration from an antique vase she came across at an antiques show.
The iconic Ciao Lucia check pattern and vintage-inspired lace and ribbon are additional touches.
McCloskey said, "Working with Ciao Lucia on this collection has been an absolute joy," on the creative process. Our two brands had a wonderful visual harmony from the beginning, with our styles complementing one another. It was a pleasure working directly with Lucy, the creator of Ciao Lucia; her love of design, vintage style, and attention to fit and fabric reflected the values that we uphold at Rixo.

We were able to make sure that every item embodied the essence of both of our companies thanks to the creative process. Together, we went through each silhouette, and I created the collection's cherub design by hand—a genuine Rixo hallmark piece that perfectly pairs with Ciao's exquisite check pattern.
"I think we're such similar brands but geographically have a different customer—it made sense to team up and create something cool together," said Lucy Akin, creator and designer of Ciao Lucia.
"I was acquainted with the designers and proprietors of Rixo since I used to purchase their products for my business, so it was good to collaborate with them once again! They approached me with the notion of working together, and I was quite pleased since I've always respected Rixo's company.
The Rixo x Ciao Lucia capsule collection is only accessible on the e-commerce websites of both companies and ranges in price from 265 to 325 pounds.
