Exes Who Have Shown Up Uninvited on The Bachelor
A significant number of former partners have made appearances on either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette over the course of the franchise's history. There are those who are there to send a message to the lead, while others are there with the aim of rekindling the flame.
During the twenty-fourth season, Merissa Pence showed up at Peter Weber's date with Victoria Fuller in order to give him a warning. Not only had she had a brief relationship with Peter many years ago, but she was also acquainted with Victoria because they were both from the same town. In the course of their conversation, which lasted for around seven minutes, she asserted that Victoria had managed to dismantle four marriages.
Due to the fact that her face was obscured, Merissa did not go into the season with the intention of gaining fame or regaining Peter's affection. In 2012, the two were romantically involved, but they decided to go on as friends.
Since I knew Peter, I was familiar with his family, and I was aware of the kind of guy he is, I took a position that was completely different from that of everyone else. So I just felt like, if someone were to say something, I felt like he probably would listen to me vs some random girl,” she exclusively told Us Weekly about her decision to go on the show.
Merissa wasn’t the first ex to turn up on the franchise without an invite — she wasn’t even the first on Peter’s season — and it’s probable that she won’t be the last. Scroll through the slideshow below for more exes seeking to make a statement.
A. Rossi, Matt
Matt stunned The Bachelorette season 21 lead Jenn Tran when he landed in New Zealand and tried to win her back. “You could’ve said this before I left,” she remarked, to which he replied, “I did say it but I didn’t say it as grandly as this I guess.”
Chase Rice
During season 24, Victoria Fuller's ex, Chase Rice, came up as a performer on one of her dates with Peter. Peter had no notion that they had dated in the past and Chase said he didn't know he'd be performing on that day. At the conclusion of the night, Victoria told Peter about her past with Chase and apologized for the discomfort.
Merissa Pence
Merissa came into season 24 to warn her ex Peter, who she considered as a friend, about one of his finalists, Victoria. While she didn't want to disclose too much, she told Peter during his hometown date that Victoria had broken up numerous relationships. Hannah Brown
The season 15 Bachelorette featured in the first two episodes of Peter's season of The Bachelor. First, she got out of the limo as a prank, only handing back the wings that Peter had given her on her season, in which he came in third place. She later returned to organize a group date and fell down backstage, confessing she regretted sending him home. After a highly flirtatious and emotional exchange, she exited the theater and he kept on.
Tia Booth
During season 14 of The Bachelorette, Becca Kufrin became quite close to candidate Colton Underwood. She knew that he had a past with her close friend, Tia Booth, but Tia had assured Becca it was finished. However, later in the season, Tia returned and admitted that she genuinely wasn’t over Colton. Colton was returned home and Tia and Colton gave their relationship a shot. (It didn’t work, and he went on to become the Bachelor.)
Ross Jirgl
While competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart, Becca Kufrin was in stunned when her ex-boyfriend Ross abruptly emerged in Peru. He tried to win her over but she absolutely turned him down, calling their connection as “unhealthy” and cutting him out of her life for ever.
Lexi Thexton
In season 13 of The Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay was surprised when a woman called Lexi showed up on a group date and said she was DeMario Jackson’s girlfriend who chose to come on the show after he ghosted her. While DeMario said he had cut things up with her, she still had keys to DeMario’s residence — and texts. Rachel grew upset with all the back and forth and sent him packing.
